Sup, party people! Summer finally feels real and here, right? Of course, right. With summertime comes a celebratory vibe, and hopefully, a few more opportunities to prioritize YOU. If you’re seeking inspiration, check out Deb’s highly approachable Summer Bucket List. Don’t worry, it doesn’t include any wild athletic feats or big life changes (not that those are bad things!).
Don’t have the time or budget for Italy? No biggie. Al fresco gatherings with family and friends at home are the perfect substitution. With tomato and stone fruit season around the corner, you’ll be plating prosciutto and peaches and caprese salads like Wishbone Kitchen in the Hamptons. Be sure to grab your favorite SCOUT cooler and fill it with a pre-batched frose, fruit, and funky cheese.
Cleaning is one of the keys to pure bliss. Block time for a mid-year organization project and immediately experience euphoria. We’re donating the blouse we wore once in 2017, and we’re creating enough space to close our dresser drawers without herniating a disc! As Deb says, “We’re always better when we know what we have!”
Another way to maintain sanity, lower cortisol, and sleep like a baby is getting outside and moving! Try a new or random sport, like pickleball, paddle boarding, or pétanque (the alliteration was irresistible). We’re entering our sporty spice era, y’all. And that includes mahjong or bunco!
If you can, impulse buy a Southwest flight to your favorite city with your best friends, partner, or YOURSELF. Deb loves going to New York in the summer when the masses have dispersed. This way, there’s less competition for the things she loves to do, like exploring fab stores and trying out new places and restaurants with Gibby!
Make time for yourself to enjoy a balcony, rooftop, or “tar beach” as Deb fondly refers to her days of tanning on the roof. Go find a pool and have a staycation moment. Make sure to pack your Supergoop! for safe sunning.
It’s showtime, y’all. That’s right. We’re couch rotting for at least one hour a week and bingeing Overcompensating, The Pit, and Too Much (releasing July 10th). We’re sat for Real Housewives of Rhode Island.
Listen to some new tunes! It’s time to blast “getting ready” music and feel like we’re in 10th grade again. We recommend Sally, When the Wine Runs Out by ROLE MODEL. Alexa….
Last but far from least, we strongly encourage you to throw the party of your dreams. Themes make it even dreamier. Deb’s already dreaming up her big Go Bo 20th Anniversary party plans. This is always a nostalgic tie-in to the season and an ultimate summer highlight.
Y’all rock! Now go have fun!
