We’re now well on our way to giving thanks, but before we gather, giggle, gorge, and steer clear of awkward conversations, we must celebrate a recent HQ tradition that never ceases to spark joy. Before Letters to Santa, our team gets together and forms an assembly line of treats (and maybe a trick or two a la Ben) for our friends, families, and fabulous staff at Georgetown University Hospital.

Despite our recent HQ move a couple blocks down the street, we haven’t forgotten to pack up our favorite products, candies, and fidgets in hopes of some celebration and inspiration in our neighborhood. Even with all our new exposed brick walls and views and desk chairs, our favorite delivery day to the pediatric oncology unit does not change. With snacks, surprises, and SCOUT product (of c), we’re prepped and ready to treat the patients and nurses who inspire us year in and year out.

Surprise/trick! This year, we held a team bake-off to coincide with our stuffing and, boy, are the mentions noteworthy. Leave it to the old Tik Tok machine to send Sarah Sams inspiration for her cookie Oreo brownie delights. Bet you’re already imagining chomping into the crunchy and gooey innards of those beauties. Additionally, amazing, incredible, Nicole Zasa baked farm fresh apple cider donuts. So, it sounds like we should totally open a bakery. Watch your back, Baked & Wired! JK, we love you and will stick to bags.

Not only is Nicole the star of our stomachs, but she’s also an icon in the Georgetown candy drop off circuit. She organizes the entire event from concepting to delivery and personally hands off our goodie bags at Georgetown University Hospital. As we’ve watched Nicole become a mother and queen over the years, we’re reminded of how thankful we are to have such kind, intelligent, and fab humans in our orbit. Perhaps we have a tradition of hiring amazing employees.
We will continue our tradition of sparking joy in the lives of our friends near and far as long as y’all will have us. This November, donate to your food banks, deliver a treat to someone who needs it, and don’t forget to bake something outrageous that TikTok delivered to your brain by osmosis.
