Santa came to DC again last month! Deb Johns and her team of Santas returned, as per usual, to fill homes with gifts for Christmas 2024.
Every year the SCOUT team and the greater DMV community participate in Letters to Santa, a program designed to support underserved families in the DC area during the holiday season. Thirty-one years ago, when Deb first got involved with Letters to Santa, the letters were delivered through the New York and later DC post office.
Today, families are encouraged to send letters about their kids with clothing and shoe sizes and other gift requests via fax machine. We’re not exaggerating when we say letters start flooding in on the first of DC public school openings. When you believe, you receive, and at SCOUT, the Santa crew always delivers. We cannot wait to do it again in December 2025!
