SCOUT HQ: Hometown Halloween Inspo

SCOUT HQ: Hometown Halloween Inspo

Our sacred and hallowed hood of Georgetown is leaning in big time for spooky season! We’re coming up on the ole’ 3-1 in October, so we wanted to highlight a few iconic local stoops before the pumpies start caving in on themselves and become overnight oats for the birds. If you’ve yet to hit your local patch or Party City, use these fabulous steps and sidewalks as your own eerie inspiration.

The blocks feature pumpkins stacked, piled, and lined up along front stoop stairways and sidewalks with the warm hues and foliage of fall reflected in their patinas. Speaking of patinas, heirloom pumpkins are emerging in shades of amber, putty, and ivory (a little gourd decor forecasting for your books). These natural palettes mix seamlessly to create a rustic yet chic harvest spectacular.

From inflatables and animated black cats and ghosts to floating witch hats and spiderwebs strung across entire facades, the spooky elements have range. And, who doesn’t love a skeleton dressed to impress? Those appear to be a huge hit this year, and we can’t get enough of the different skelly scenarios. We love a skeleton climbing out of a drain or a striped witch’s leg popping out of a pot or planter. The hijinks are never ending!

Of course, the scale of some of the decor is highly impressive. The towering skeletons are awe inspiring, however, we couldn’t help but wonder: where is everyone storing those big bones? The house-high spiderwebs feel slightly more manageable.

Crunching along these streets and soaking in all the ghoulishness really makes fall feel as festive and spooky as we remember from childhood. However, it would not officially be Halloween at SCOUT HQ without the perfect trick-or-treating tote. Whether you’re hoarding your child’s Milk Duds until Christmas or simply looking for something a little more substantial than a plastic Safeway stack, we’ve got the perfect party totes and patterns to bring the spirit of the season to life. Plus, no sticky nightmares as many of these bags are water-resistant and wipe clean.

The SCOUTolantern and Fleetwood Black  prints are designed to spotlight Halloween and decorate an otherwise simple candy carrier just as our eerie neighbors have done with their stoops and porches this season. We wish you a safe and happy spooky season, and a stress-free segue into turkey time as well.
