It probably goes without saying, but we love dogs at SCOUT HQ. And we always aim to give you a look behind the chic, black curtain of Deb, and the things she loves as well - which includes her brood of beautiful pups. A Johns Family Dog Tour is long overdue, and the holidays feel like the ideal time to celebrate as they’re a time best spent with family (our beloved pets).
This week we’ll meet the Johns family hounds through the apt descriptors of Gibson Johns, the hilarious, warm-natured, and cool middle Johns child. It feels appropriate that the middle child would intro the family pets. Don’t ask how! Just does! Ready? Here goes!
Ace - As the eldest dog in the family, Ace runs the Johns household. He's a dachshund (okay, logo icon!) who takes himself very seriously, but isn't shy about showing his softer side when the timing is right. He loves fetching tennis balls and barking at his brothers when they go for a swim. Digging holes is also a particular passion of his.
Puck - Puck is the newest member of the Johns clan, and if you think this little dachshund would be intimidated by his older and much bigger brothers, you thought wrong! Puck is fearless about pretty much everything, except for the rain and the cold, which are deal breakers for him (though they do give him an excuse to show off his nifty little jackets to the other dogs at the park). Puck loves to sleep, and his favorite time of the day is getting the chance to go upstairs and make himself cozy in his parents' bed.
Astro - Astro is the oldest of the Johns' two golden retrievers, and he's an absolute lovable doofus. He loves chasing after tennis balls, swimming, and living life with his constant shadow, Otto. But the thing he adores most in life? Food. Astro is never not thinking about food, trying to figure out a way to get more snacks, or convince you that he hasn't already had dinner. Conveniently, he's so big he can rest his head on the dinner table while his family eats!
Otto - Otto does everything his older brother, Astro, does because he thinks he's just so cool. He loves to watch him swim, chase him around the yard, follow him around the house and bark whenever he barks. Otto is happiest leaning into his dad's embrace and just hanging out for hours. He does not particularly enjoy when other people come to his house.
Wafer - Wafer lives with his moms, Alice and Gussie (Deb's daughter), around the corner from his cousins, and he loves it when he gets to go to their house to chase them around the yard. He adores playing with his little cousin Puck. Wafer has the biggest smile and charms all of the kids at his mom's gym, Healthy Baller, where he hangs out most days and thinks about every kind of sports ball there is.
Wally - Wally lives across town from his cousins at Mike and Bo's (Deb's son) house, and he loves celebrating Wally Wednesday every single week. He's the king of his castle who loves his mini tennis balls, sitting on the couch with his dads, eating cheese, and basking in the glory of his charmed life as an only child.
