Have you ever wondered what it would be like to live in another country? Well, you can certainly pursue dressing like you are! As Deb makes her annual trek through Milan, Paris, and London, we get a fab look into a fashion forecast for spring and summer styling that will eventually make its way stateside. As these cities are the tastemakers of the fashion industry, it's fascinating to take note and start getting some ideas of your own. From Ozian vibes to reimagined workwear, we're sharing a glimpse into all trends whimsical, wild, and wonderful.

OK so, maximalism is back, baby. Did it ever leave? We don’t know. But we're definitely daring to dream beyond the “clean girl,” minimalist aesthetic. No shade to uniform looks! We love Deb’s signature black and Steve Jobs’ turtleneck and New Balances (Steve walked so clean girl could run). La Double J is bellowing the opposite approach in its gorgeous Milan flagship store. Lush with color, print, pattern, and decorative details, this brilliant designer brings juicy and bright decorative dimensions to wardrobe and home. We also want to note that Deb's home and personal touches are one hundred percent maximalist. From her fabulous dining room to her Roxanne Assouline bracelet stack. Everyone needs a happy pop of color! Even in the smallest of doses.

Dover Street Market is and forever will be Deb’s fav “concept store.” Founded by the Commes des Garcons visionary, Rei Kowakubo, Dover Street exaggerates and elevates fashion by staging trends at the highest levels. Diaphanous layers gazar (think the woven look of Balenciaga) to tulle, ruffles and lacey edges, polka dots, checks, menswear shirting stripes (of course), and workwear influences are weaving their way into looks this season. Tried and true cosmetic neutrals, pretty pinks, navy and white pairings, and black will anchor the season. If you've been fantasizing about taking things in a more gothic princess direction, then this is your season. Romanticism is making a glorious return. Perhaps we have Wuthering Heights and Bridgerton to thank for that. Or maybe history repeats itself in delightful ways to fill us with nostalgic whimsies.

While we're feeling dreamy, pink, and ruffly... Deb's noticing even more pretty pastels for day and sleepwear. Sleepwear can also be daywear. And nightwear! Imagine that. From brands like Sleeper to Damson Madder and other RTW icons, looking like a Victorian princess prepped for slumber atop a hundred mattresses with a pea underneath is the key to chic. Consider pairing these themes with a deconstructed jacket or coat in cosmetic neutrals, punctuated military greens, and femme, bright accents for an a la mode take on ladylike classics with just the right twists.

Praise the Lord, electric brights are reviving skirts and dresses with panache. Vibrants coordinated with tiers, ruffles, and pleats are draping and ruching for added dimension like their lives depend on it. This mix of modern yet feminine, classic yet exaggerated, pale and ombre at the same time, are inspiring cognitive dissonance, yet harmony! You CAN be casual, yet dressed up all at once, and isn’t that kind of the goal? We’re on a constant quest for day to night, dressy casual, and, oh heavens, DARE we even say, “comfy cute”?! This season the Continent is DELIVERING, or shall we again dare and say “serving”?

Wow! Sounds like we have some very fun outfit envisioning ahead. Outfits can be fun, remember? And mark our words, you’ll certainly be seeing these themes in the SCOUT future. Deb utilizes her journeys to soak up all the pattern, print, and product information possible, so we can deliver it to y’all in an approachable, attainable, and exciting way in the seasons to come. Don't be surprised when you see dots, spots, florals, geometrics, and accessories for Fall/Winter/Spring '26-27...
