The SCOUT Holiday Party has yet to be addressed, and we’ve been dying to share all the behind-the-scenes team moments from our family to yours. This season, our festivities spanned over three days with members of our larger team joining everyone in Georgetown for team bonding, giving back, and boogying down. With the winter doldrums doldrum-ing, we’re looking back on one of the warmest and brightest weeks of the year at SCOUT HQ for some happy feelies.
As we planned the 2022 Holiday Party, our main goals were to optimize everyone’s time together and make the most of team activities. We spent the first day together breaking out into small groups and heading to different nearby coffee shops to learn more about each other. This was giving major college orientation energy, which we loved. Of course, we all came together for a happy hour afterwards. It was the holiday season… How could we not?!
Giving back to the greater DC community is in our DNA, so we dedicated the majority of our second day to prepping sandwiches for one of our favorite local organizations, SOME, a cause dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty and homelessness in Washington. We operated in an assembly line format when sandwich making, and we can safely say hundreds were prepared. And after working with all that bread, we couldn’t help but feel hungry ourselves. So, we headed to a beautiful lunch at Officina where the official holiday party began.
The view at lunch was gorgina as it overlooked the oh-so-popular Wharf in Southwest DC. After some adequate noshing, we headed down to Cantina Bambina for festive cocktails and wonderful conversations. You’ll notice some people even bopped down to the ice rink, which was so hysterical and fun. We cheered each other on and cackled some too.
Finally, the bold and brave headed to the after party to sing karaoke. Karaoke can really tell you a lot about a person, y’all. We had some GOOD singers, like our Senior Creative Manager, Meg. Emily, our Digital Marketing Manager, sang Breaking Free from High School Musical, and it was equally moving. Afterwards, all the tired elves went home to dream of sugarplums and wrapping gifts for our Santa Letter families the following morning.
It’s a pleasure and privilege to celebrate this year with each other and shed a little light on our beloved SCOUT family with you all. We want to thank you all for your continuous support and friendship and look forward to the year to come. We wish you all a happy and healthy New Year and can’t wait to celebrate life’s colorful adventures with you in 2023!
